Two PB’s on Cherry lake this week.
Thursday 16 July 2015
I am delighted to report that two PB’s to two new guests this week on Cherry Lake and 4 photos to share with you below.
The fishing has been rather sluggish and typical of this time of the year. A successful trip is all about taking the odd chance as it comes along. Dropping your leads on the take is critical otherwise the combination of the weed (which builds up on the lead) and the lead can often result in Carp being lost.
Mark Ross fishing in the Cottage swim claims the prize for the biggest Carp this week with a new PB Common of 27lb. Fishery manager Dave Bowen, says that whilst the Carp was in cracking condition, it was clearly down in weight following her recent spawning exertions. We expect this fish to be over 30lb next time she is out. Judging from the photo, girlfriend Amanda is much more excited about the Common than Mark is! He was obviously playing it cool!
Michael Manning was also clearly delighted with his new PB from Heron Lodge, with this 24lb Common. He says he is coming back again as soon as he can with his equally friendly partner Terri.
Top rod this week was one of our regular guests Trevor Henshaw. Now whilst he could not beat the 34-08 Mirror that he caught on his last visit in April, he was very pleased with the 4 Carp landed which included this 24lb (almost a Leather) Mirror and this very attractive 19lb Fully scaled Mirror below.
Well done to you all, and especially Michael and Mark on your Personal Bests.
