Two new thirties this weekend!
Monday 24 April 2017
Fishery manager Dave Bowen took advantage of a quiet weekend to spend some time with his friends on Cherry Lake. Fishing from Grebe Lodge they landed ten carp over the weekend, primarily during the day. Included in the catch were 5 carp over 20lb to 26-08 and these two fantastic thirties pictured below.
We were delighted to see both of these Carp in good condition and obviously feeding well as they build up towards spawning, presumably sometime in the next 4-8 weeks. Both of these thirties are new in that it is the first time they have been landed at above thirty pounds.
Regular followers of these updates will know that eight 30′s have been caught this year, of which I have six sets of good photos confirming that at least six were different fish, and three are new thirties. Needless to say we are pleased with the progress that many of the carp in Cherry Lake are making.
We have two remaining booking periods remaining on Cherry lake in May, notably for 01-05 and 15-19 May. We have at least one Lodge remaining each week in June. So if you fancy a crack at the Cherry Lake Carp and trying to join the 30+ club, give us a call on 01285 869887
Kieran and Gavin Lee stayed in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs and had 6 Carp to 16-04. The fish played hard to get until Sunday and then they started to catch.
