Three Generations of Bentley’s score at Cherry Lake!
Monday 10 August 2015
I always enjoy seeing Father and Son fishing together, not least because I was unable to instill the same passion for fishing in my own son. This week things went even better when we had three generations of the Bentley family, notably Grandfather, Father and Son, fishing together. Nice!
Paul Bentley (Father), a returning guest, led the way fishing on his own in Heron Lodge. Paul managed 5 Carp to 24lb including this lovely Ghost Common of 21-08 below. paul was the Bentley family champion this week.
Grandfather Tom and Son Oliver fished together in Osprey Lodge and shared 5 Carp between them including these photos of a 19-12 Mirror to Oliver and a 23lb Common for Tom below.
It was interesting to note that of the 10 carp landed between them, 7 Carp were over 20lb and two were 19lb+. We think that some 60%+ of the 230 stock in Cherry Lake now exceed 20lb. The Bentley’s catch was in line (in fact just exceeded) this ratio. Well done family Bentley and we look forward to seeing you next year.
Cherry Lake continued to fish well this weekend with 13 Carp being shared by the anglers present. this included several upper twenties, the biggest of which was an 27-04 Common caught by Jon Drake in Grebe.
