‘The Peach’ at 29-06 and a 32lb Common
Monday 26 March 2018
I mentioned in my last update when talking about Neil Ash’s lovely Ghost Mirror of 25-04 that Cherry Lake has a good number of Ghosties bigger than his one. In truth I was thinking about the four known 30′s rather than ‘The Peach’. Well I am delighted to report that Neil caught ‘The Peach’ on Sunday night at 29-06 from Grebe Lodge (which I think is about it’s highest ever weight). He was delighted with both this beautiful Carp as well as the fact he caught a brace of upper 20 Ghosties! Extremely well done Neil.
Lee Wright in Osprey Lodge on Cherry Lake has been this week’s top rod with 8 Carp including 4 over 25lb (26lb-pictured below, 27lb, 28lb and 29-04) plus a 32-05 Common being landed. There is a long story behind why I did not get to see this fish which I will not bore you about. Whilst not the best photo, it is fortunately good enough for me to recognise it as the same Common caught last May by Paul Sillence at 30-12. As a result Lee becomes the latest new member of the 30+ club and is automatically entered into the 30+ club free prize draw. Lee has done well by consistently baiting the middle of the lake.
I am also pleased to report that all of the other anglers on Cherry Lake have caught this week with a total of 13 landed so far. Of these only three have been below 20lb which I think is an excellent average weight. Dean Knott in the Cottage was very pleased with his 28-08 Mirror which he landed at 01.00 last night from the Cottage swim.
Graham Barker in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Mere was very pleased with a 26-08 Mirror he landed from Cherry Springs.
