The biggest Mirror of the year from Cherry Lake

A much improved weekend on Cherry Lake with the biggest Mirror of the year being landed at 34-08. This fish along with three other including a 28-08 Mirror was landed by a publicity shy guest who did not want his photograph to be published. Hence yours truly can be seen holding this fabulous fish below. We now have our first ‘anonymous’ member of the Cherry Lake 30+ club.

This Carp was caught late in February at 32-04, so it is good to see her up in weight. By February she should be comfortably over 35lb. I hope I see her again then!

All of the Carp caught from Grebe Lodge were hooked on a small pop up over a bed of pellets. Interestingly, all of the Carp were landed between 18-24 hours after the rods were positioned.

The guests in Heron Lodge also landed a nice 20-04 Mirror which was a PB. I have also included a photo of one of last week’s 25lb+. This was caught by Laslow Csikos who was on his third visit to Cherry Lake and was delighted to get off the mark with this cracker.

Our good friends Kevin and Amy Dryland stayed in Pochard Lodge this weekend. Kevin was delighted with this 23-08 Mirror below, a PB for him.

I have to say it was really good to be around Cherry Lakes this weekend to see some lovely fish caught. The 34-08 and 28-08 Cherry Lake Carp, along with Kevin’s from Cherry Mere, were all looking fabulous in their ‘winter colours’ and were in great condition.
