Sarah Scrase smashes her PB on Cherry Springs

The unseasonably cool weather has continued again this week and I would describe the fishing across Cherry Lakes as being a bit slower than we would normally expect for this time of the year. Cherry Lake only produced 4 Carp, with returning guests Chris and Trish Reilly sharing 4 Carp between them from Grebe Lodge. With the Cottage empty for a week the Carp have spent a lot of their time in front of the house enjoying some peace and quiet!

Graham and Sue Barker managed to squeeze in a visit to Pochard Lodge this week and we were delighted to see them back at Cherry Lakes. Graham chose to fish selectively, he said he just enjoys being here, and when he did he caught a good number of Carp including three over 20lb including this chunky 28-08 Mirror above and a lovely Ghost Common of 17-08 below. I believe Graham caught his big one on our Cherry Lake Bio-fruit boilie. We look forward to your return later this year Graham and Sue.

Fishing couple Sarah Scrase and Brendan Norris visited Cherry Pool on their first visit to Cherry Lakes and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. So this time, particularly as they have got a bit more angling experience, decided to book themselves onto Cherry Springs. On arrival both Sarah and Brendan said their ambition was to break their PB's and hopefully catch a twenty. I am delighted to say that Sarah achieved her ambition and landed a beautiful heavily scaled Mirror Carp of 21-02, to set a new PB. needless to say she was very pleased with this Carp, not least because her PB is now bigger than Brendan's! No prizes for guessing what will be Brendan's target on their next visit.

It is good to see that the banks of Cherry Springs are rapidly 'greening up' after all the work this winter.
