Ryan Jenkins shows what you are missing!
Wednesday 8 March 2017
Ryan Jenkins who made his first visit to Cherry Lake in early March last year and did well landing Carp to over 26lb, decided to return again for the same week this year.
Ryan has been taking advantage of an empty Cherry Lake and has been able to try a number of spots both within and outside Heron Lodge’s normal water. So far he has been taking full advantage of the weather and the lake to himself. His biggest to date is a cracking Common of 29-01. He also landed a 20lb Mirror within 12 hours of catching the Common. A lovely brace for early March, hopefully with more to come.
Ryan caught both of these Carp on the new Cherry Lakes ‘Supreme Fish’ boilies. Given that we have been mainly introducing the new milk and birdfood based ‘Dairy-Cream Delight’ bolies, I think this shows how quickly the Carp have switched onto these new boilies which we know are very good.
We have plenty of vacancies across Cherry Lakes over the next few weeks. With the weather forecast for at least the next ten days being good for fishing I am surprised we are so quiet (it has been a long winter!), If you have the time, as Ryan has proved, you are missing out. So if you fancy a last minute trip, give us a call on 01285 869887.
The Common was last out just over 30lb in the autumn. Judging by it’s weight and the picture of the Mirror, the Carp are a little lighter than I would expect at this time of the year. Hopefully this means they will feed hard this spring as they build up towards spawning.
I am also pleased to report that our guests on the smaller lakes are also all catching Carp. The Carp are active across all of our four lakes, which is just as you would expect now the water temperature is above 7 degrees and the days are getting brighter and longer.
