The Perkins family share 47 Carp from Cherry Mere!
Thursday 13 September 2018
As mentioned in my last update, I promised to talk about how the other lakes fished during our holiday absence. In short pretty well with some good captures to report.
The Perkins family, Dad Andrew with sons Ben and Luke were on a repeat visit to Cherry Mere staying in Pochard Lodge. Whilst they did well last year they truly had an exceptional visit this time.
Fishing from Monday to Friday, they shared an amazing catch of 47 Carp between them. They fed consistently with the Cherry Lakes Dairy-Cream boilies. Of these 10 Carp were over 20lb, with each angler catching at least one 20lb+. As an old guy, I am pleased to report that Dad Andrew had the biggest Carp, a Mirror of 27-07. However, as you can see from the pictures below, sons Ben with a 25-02 and Luke at 24-05 were not far behind. Well done on an amazing catch to the Perkins team!
Cherry Springs has also been producing some good fish. Peter Webster managed 5 twenties during his stay twice increasing his PB to 25-04. Brian Hamilton also did well when he stayed in Kingfisher Lodge catching consistently throughout his stay landing 28 Carp including 3 over 20lbs including this 25-04 Mirror below.
I have also received a photo, see below, showing Ken Clarke’s 30-02 Mirror caught during his recent stay in Heron Lodge on Cherry Lake. See previous article.
Apologies to anyone who I should have mentioned, but with fishery manager Dave Bowen away this week, I am a bit light on the detail!
