Paul Sparks lands 70 Carp from Cherry Pool (wow!).

Another good week across the Cherry Lakes complex as the fish respond to the ‘miserable’ summer holiday weather of the last two weeks.

As promised I need to start this update with some commentary on the other lakes. Recently Paul Sparks, who normally fishes on Cherry Lake, decided to have four days on Cherry Pool in Egret Lodge because he said ‘he wanted to get his rod bent’! Well he did big time! He caught an amazing 70 Carp over 4 days to 15lbs, which is a record I think for this lake, and was absolutely shattered come Friday. He certainly wanted to go home for a rest. Next time he says he is going back on Cherry Lake!

Andrew Thompson has been fishing Cherry Pool this week. Andrew, who is an accomplished pole fisherman is on his second visit to Cherry Pool. He says he loves the lake because it is so prolific and you never know what will turn up. So far this week he has caught Roach to 2lb, a Crucian carp of 2-08 and a 10lb Bream!

Roger Jarrold stayed with his family in Pochard Lodge this week. He landed a few good Carp as well as some of the smaller Carp coming through, and was pleased to break the 20lb mark with this Common of 20-02. 

All the guests on Cherry Lake caught again this week, the biggest to Peter Moore in the Cottage, a Common of 29lb. Top rod was Mark Worsley who landed 6 carp from Osprey Lodge to 24lb using the new Cherry Lakes ‘Mixed-Fruit Delight’ boilies.

Gary Owen stayed with his mother and father Rob in Grebe Lodge. I was very pleased to see that both caught. Gary had this 24-10 below. i was particularly pleased to see Rob smash his PB with this 24-04 Mirror, also pictured below. I also like Rob’s polo shirt!
