Nigel beats Jack 6-5!

Nigel Funnell and Jack Thomson have had a thoroughly enjoyable week staying in Cherry Lake Cottage whilst their partners soaked themselves in the hot tub.

Between them they landed 11 Carp and lost a further 5.They both had Carp of 28lb, with Nigel just claiming ‘victory’ with six fish to Jack’s five. Of the 11 carp landed, nine were in excess of 20lb. The carp were caught on a variety of pop ups, boilies and sweetcorn from around the Cottage swim.

Jack, who has written recently for Big Carp magazine, was vey complimentary about the attractivness and condition of the Carp caught. This is all the excuse I need to indulge myself with four photos in this update! See below for some stunners.

Geoff Farrand and his wife Pauline also had a great time on Cherry Pool. As well as landing Carp to 18lb, Geoff caught some cracking other species of fish by fishing close in on a float. Geoff caught Bream to 8lb and five of my favourite fish, Crucian Carp, all of which weighed between 2-08 to 3-08. Not suprisingly Geoff and Pauline have rebooked for a week in Egret Lodge again next year.
