New partnership with Angling Technics

As regular guests know we have offered Angling Technics Technicat bait boats for hire since we opened Cherry Lakes in 2013. These boats have proven to have good reliability and have been easy to use even by anglers who have never used them before. The fact that Angling Tecnics (AT) is based just 5 miles away has been an added advantage and has made both regular servicing and repairs relatively easy for us. In short we have always worked closely with AT.

It has been an open secret that the owners Phil and Deane Fry have been looking to sell the business for some while. Inevitably this has limited the focus on new products and diversifying the business. Whilst I was away I was delighted to receive the news that AT had been sold to two businessmen, David Orr and Gavin Price.

I am delighted for both Phil and Deane, and also for AT, because it has quickly became very obvious that David and Gavin have big exciting plans for Angling Technics. They also made it clear that they wanted an even closer relationship with us here at Cherry Lakes.

They will quickly be introducing new bait boat products, diversifying the AT product range, as well as looking to make the on-going servicing experience better.

They have immediately injected a lot of energy and urgency into the business as well as their capital. I have no doubt they will revitalise the company and AT will quickly return to its position as the clear market leader. Not least because these two successful businessmen are also keen Carp anglers. A great combination of expertise and passion. Indeed Gavin is even a past guest of Cherry Lakes.

I am delighted to confirm that Cherry Lakes will be working in an even closer partnership with Angling Technics in the future. We expect to be able to offer our guests access to the newest AT boats and other products. We might also be a test fishery for AT's new products under development. I am very much looking forward to trying their new spreader which the new team have already introduced.
