Neil Goodman smashes the Cherry Lake Ghost carp record
Sunday 12 June 2016
Neil Goodman become the newest member of of the 30+ club, and the ninth angler to catch a 30+ Carp from Cherry Lake this year. He also did it in style.
Neil, who was fishing in Grebe Lodge, smashed the Cherry Lake Ghost Carp record with a Ghost Mirror of 32-12. This fish leap frogs the previous record which was a different Ghost Mirror caught by Paul Sparks earlier this year. He also landed three other Mirrors including one of 26-08.
Typically, and it does seem to happen so often when the Carp switch on together for short periods, Neil had just landed a 16lb Mirror when his rod went off with the 32-12 Ghostie. The shot below of these two carp in the same net is a fantastic one. Well done Neil.
All of the other anglers on Cherry Lake caught this week including personal bests of 25-08 in Osprey, and a 27lb Common to fist timer Jason Goggs in Heron Lodge. The anglers on the other lakes also reported good catches. Apologies, I was rather slow on Friday morning and did not get the normal level of detail!
