Martin Lee’s amazing few days on Cherry Pool

Martin Lee has been staying this week in Egret Lodge on Cherry Pool. He has been having a whale of a time (they were not actually that big!) despite the very high winds etc.

So far this week, and this is without fishing through the night, he has landed a very impressive 37 Carp to 19-05. He has also had Perch to 1-08 in between the Carp action. Personally I think this is an amazing catch given it is only mid-March and shows again what a great little lake Cherry Pool is throughout the year.

As you can see from the photos below, Martin also caught a lovely Ghost Carp of 15-06 as well as a lean looking Mirror of 19-06 in the only period of good weather all week. Well done Martin.

Regular, and good friend, Brian Hamilton has been staying in Pochard Lodge this week and has also had a hat full (possibly a reference to Brian’s dodgy head wear….what do you think?!). I think he has had around a dozen Carp including three twenties including this 25lb Mirror below. This Carp still had some of it’s winter mucus on (suggesting it had only recently ‘woken up’) and a 21-05 Mirror. Well done Brian.
