Marie’s great week on Cherry Pool.

Regular Marie Fearn returned to Cherry Pool recently and had a great week. She caught a total of 23 Carp and a cracking Tench of 6lb 1oz. It was particularly good to see Marie return as her last visit had been a little disappointing. Certainly it was a case of ’karma’ with the Carp gods shinning on her this time.

During her week Marie caught some lovely Carp and beat her previous PB four times. An excellent effort.

Marie dropped me a lovely email after her trip some of which I have cut and paste below.

‘’The changes that you have made to the stock and removal of the bream have made such a difference. This was my third time on Cherry Pool and whilst on a previous trip I caught 20 fish, not one of the carp was above 20lb. Where as this time I think I had 6 over 20lb and a good amount in the high teens. Now I need to set my sights on a 30lbre’’

I have to say it is good to see our extra efforts with Cherry Pool really paying off and being recognised by our guests. We are determined to keep improving Cherry Pool to make it as popular as the other exclusive lakes. It will not be easy, as it will be an on-going challenge, for which we will need the help of our guests, to reduce the Roach and Bream biomass to create the space for further stockings of younger quality Carp.

But it is not all about Carp. Cherry Pool contains some specimen Crucian Carp and Tench. The 6lb 1oz Tench being held by Marie in the lead photo above clearly illustrates the point.
