Kevin Smith achieves his goal from the Cottage.
Wednesday 18 November 2015
We have just returned from Thailand (more in my next update) and were expecting to find it cold and slow at Cherry Lakes. instead we find it has been one of the warmest November’s on record. There has clearly been a lot of rain and wind judging by the lake level being up and no leaves left on the trees! All of the lakes have fished well whilst we have been away for the anglers that have been here. Shame that we have not been that busy!
Kevin Smith fished in the Cottage swim in the first week of November. Kevin, I hope he does not mind me saying, is seriously ill. One of his ambitions was to catch a good Carp from Cherry Lake whilst he can. I am delighted to say that he did catch this 23lb Mirror below.
Fishery manager Dave Bowen, who was particularly pleased for Kevin, said the fight really took it out of Kevin and it was quite a struggle for him to hold the fish. I think though you can still see the Carp was a real cracker.
Well done Kevin. We are delighted you enjoyed your visit and achieved your goal.
