Jon Drake joins the 30+ club

Jon Drake has been on his second visit to Cherry Lake this weekend and last night joined the 30+ club. As you can see below he was very pleased to do so and looks like he is ‘wearing the shirt with pride’!!

Jon who has been fishing from Grebe Lodge baited several areas in the ‘shallows’ and had the good sense to stay on these overnight. The Carp who were enjoying the warmest night of the year clearly continued to feed and stay on the shallows (normally they tend to drift off into the deeper nearby water).

Jon landed these two cracking Commons, pictured below,during the early hours. The biggest at 33-02 is known as ‘Patch’ was followed by a 26-04 Common some two hours later around daybreak. Very well done Jon.

So far this weekend the anglers in Heron and Osprey Lodge have also caught. With thunderstorms and low pressure due tomorrow and over the next few days we are hopeful for more of the same and hopefully some of the other ‘big girls’ to be caught. Watch this space.
