Jason Elvin lands a new PB at 31-08

Jason Elvin has been spending a week’s holiday with partner Nicky at Cherry Lakes and has been thoroughly enjoying himself. he said the long drive has definitely been worthwhile!.

He started off having a weekend in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs where he landed 11 Carp to 15lb before moving into Grebe Lodge on Cherry Lake. I think his thinking was to hopefully get his rod bent (which he clearly did) before moving onto Cherry Lake for some, hopefully, bigger Carp.

Well the plan has certainly worked. Yesterday evening Jason landed a 19lb Mirror which was followed at dusk by this fabulous Ghost Mirror of 31-08. In doing so Jason achieved a new Personal Best, and what a fish to do it with! Jason also becomes the newest member of the Cherry Lakes 30+ club. Jason has been fishing with a pop-up over a bed of Cell boilies. Well done Jason.

The Ghost Mirror is shown in her summer colours which are not as vivid as when caught during the winter months.I have included a photo of the same fish, which was caught by Chris ‘The squirrel’ Hughes in March, which really highlights how Carp change in colour naturally throughout the year. . She looks in great condition and hope she will be over 35lb if caught between February and May next year.
