James Medati smashes his PB.
Saturday 15 April 2017
As well as the James Hine party on Cherry Lake this week, we had two younger anglers taking advantage of the Easter holidays to visit Cherry Lakes and show us older people how it should be done!
James Medati is a very keen young Carp angler who seemed much older than his 15 years. Quite rightly he had persuaded his non-fishing parents that ‘holidays abroad in the sun are boring’ and that they should take him to Cherry Lakes! James stayed in Grebe Lodge and over his stay he increased his Personal Best twice, first with a 19lb Mirror, and then he significantly increased it with a 28lb Mirror. Both are pictured below.
I might be wrong on this, but I am fairly sure that James is now the Cherry Lakes record holder for a junior angler. Well done James it was worth the long drive down from Ulverston in Cumbria.
Joshua Ofield(17) stayed with his family in Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere and landed six doubles including this 20-10 Mirror pictured below. Joshua was slightly disappointed not to have beaten his PB (he was short by 4oz!). Still you can always try again next year!
