James and Beth both land PB's
They continue to celebrate their engagement (at Cherry Lakes in early September) with another visit!
Wednesday 2 October 2019
I will focus this update on the smaller lakes as we continue to have a good run of big fish from Cherry Lake.
Fishing last weekend on Cherry Pool was as prolific as usual. Nothing huge but Louis Thomas was kept busy with lots of Carp to 16lb and Bream when the Carp where not feeding.
Michael Parks was on his first visit to Cherry Lakes and was celebrating his 17th anniversary with his wife Andrea staying in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs. He was on his 'best behaviour', not spending all his time fishing and going out for meals, visits etc. His intention being to get a pass to come back again. He baited one spot heavily and had a roving approach with his other two rods. Despite the 'lack of time' he caught lots of doubles (I forget the total) including a Mirror of 24lb. The bigger Carp was caught in heavy rain and I believe Andrea was not keen to get wet to do the photos! We hope to see you again Michael.
James Rangeley and Beth Orr returned to Cherry Lakes for a week's break with baby son Theo and Grandad Mick in tow. They had a weekend in Pochard Lodge before moving to Kingfisher Lodge. James and Beth last visited in early September when they got engaged! Nice touch James.
Well they had a great weekend in Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere catching some 20 Carp on the Cherry Lakes Bio-Fruit boilies. The two biggest Carp falling to James, with a 23-06 Mirror(lead photo above) and Beth with a 22lb Common (above). Both of these Carp represented personal bests for James and Beth. Beth also had a 20-04 Mirror which can be seen in the family photo shot with Grandpa Mick below.
On Monday the team moved into Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs and they are already in double figures (by Wednesday lunch-time). Cherry Lakes Cream and Bio-Fruit boilies again doing the trick. Similar to last week the fishing has been most prolific during the night. I think James had six last night. James has managed to further increase his PB, albeit by 4oz, when he landed this very nice Mirror of 23-10 this morning. Again with a good family shot. Well done all.
