Gary Owen lands a 37-08 Ghost Mirror
His second Ghostie over 35lb+ from Cherry Lake

A reasonable weekend across with anglers on all lakes reporting some good fish.
The star on Cherry Lake was Gary Owen, one of our regular guests, fishing in Grebe Lodge who landed as fabulous Ghost mirror of 37-08. Amazingly this is Gary's second Ghost carp from Cherry Lake over 35lb (two different fish). A snowman presentation over a scattered bed of boilies did the trick.
I have reported before that the water of Cherry Lake is currently very clear. This has had the effect of making most of the other Carp darker. The shot of Oliver Well's 42-02 Common in the last update illustrates this point. For the Ghosties it seems to work differently for them and make them brighter. This Carp's colours being further enhanced by the bright sunshine. I think it makes her look stunning.

John Darling made his first trip to Cherry Lakes this weekend and stayed in Osprey Lodge. He managed just the one fish, this 30lb Mirror below. He became the Cherry lakes 195th member. Unfortunately for John, as neither Dave or I were around (thanks to Gary Owen for helping with the weighing and photos), he will have to come back for his 30+ polo shirt!
Bob Smith on his first visit to Cherry Springs had a few including a stunning Mirror of 28-08 which I landed for him (sorry no photo). Regular Mark Goodyear also did well on Cherry Mere. Mark sent me some fantastic photos of his 9 Carp catch which included 4 over 20lbs including a new PB of 24-08. My favourite shot was of this 22-08 Mirror below
