Easter holiday fun at Cherry Lakes!
Monday 28 March 2016
A good Easter weekend despite some adventurous weather. Storm ‘Katie’ was well worth naming! Our guests were relieved to be in their ‘ultimate Winter Bivvies’ (Lodges!).
Rob Carter fishing from Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere with Daniel Roberts, shared a fabulous catch of 15 Carp and they have already booked to come back next Easter!
Fishing with boilies over pellets they caught steadily throughout their stay. All of the Carp were doubles including several 18lb+ Carp and this stunning heavily scaled Carp of 16lb below. Rob’s last fish was a Linear of 22-04 also pictured below, and the biggest of their weekend.
Just as good as the fishing was the reaction of their partners to Pochard Lodge. They loved it. hence re-booking for next year.
John Hill and Chris Czarny in the cottage swim continued to catch (see my last update) and I think they finished with 10 Carp landed. John’s last fish was this lovely 24lb Common below, which was the biggest of the 7 carp he landed. The anglers in Grebe, who caught a 22-04 Common on his first trip to Cherry Lake, and Osprey, who landed two Carp of 22lb, both also caught this weekend.
