Daniel Purkis's 29-14 Cherry Lake Mirror is this week's biggest.
Ben Merrill lands a 27-04 PB from Cherry Mere
Monday 12 October 2020
We are most definitely well into Autumn here at Cherry Lakes. The clue of course is the beautiful colours on the trees and bankside vegetation. The arrival of cold winds and cool mornings being the reality of mid-October.
The fishing is typical of this time of year. Falling water temperatures always slow the Carp up and fishing becomes progressively slower.
Last week on Cherry produced just 4 Carp with Daniel Purkis in Grebe catching three of them. His biggest was a very honest heavily scaled Mirror of 29-14 pictured below.
This weekend was no better with just two Carp being landed from Cherry Lake. With the pressure dropping for the next two days I am hoping this next period starts with a bang (or at least starts!).
Ben Merrill in Pochard Lodge was delighted with his 3 Carp from Pochard Lodge, and in particular his new PB, a bonny Mirror of 27-04. This impressive Carp is pictured in the lead photo above. This came on our very reliable Bio-Fruit boilies.
His fishing partner Craig Nickleson also landed a new PB, in the form of this 17-12 Mirror pictured below. Together they shared a catch of 6 Carp as well as losing a fair few.
Well done to the anglers featured here.
With the fishing relatively slow it is probably not the best time to remind our regulars that we are booking up very fast for 2021. I would say we have received twice as many bookings for 2021 than we had at the same point last year for 2020. If you are intending to come, please let me know. I an currently taking reduced deposits for bookings more than six months out.
Having been messed around by one prospective guest, I can confirm that we still have Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs available for 28 December to 04 January. So if you fancy a New Year break let me know on 01285 869887.
