Chris Taylor ‘canes them’!
Monday 24 July 2017
Chris Taylor and his wife Sue have been on a return week’s holiday in Grebe Lodge on Cherry Lake and left earlier today (Monday). Chris, who is a member of the Cherry Lake 30+ club from a previous visit, left with a big smile on his face. Why? Because he had just finished a hectic 48 hours where he has landed 12 Carp including two night caught 29′s and a 27-08 Common. The 27-08 Common pictured below had a beautiful copper colour which does not show up too well in the photo.
Chris struggled for his first four days, with a relatively measly 2 Carp to show for his efforts, but as the weather changed (low pressure, lower temperatures and rain), he well and truly worked it out. Chris fished consistently to a couple of positions where baited consistently with Cell boilies to keep the Carp interested. Well done Chris…what a great result!
Bill and Adam Grace spent the weekend in Pochard Lodge, also on a return trip. This time they were very happy to share a 11 Carp catch, all doubles, include 3 of 19lb+ fish. The carp are still at post spawning low weights and I suspect these three fish would have been twenties if caught during most of the year. See you all again next year.
