Cherry Springs produces the goods
Dean Knott has an amazing 30 Carp catch to 28-12 in just 48 hours.
Monday 3 June 2019
As promised I have concentrated this update purely on Cherry Springs as the last two anglers to fish from Kingfisher Lodge have done very well.
Dean Knott stayed in Kingfisher Lodge this weekend with his lovely partner Roxanne and had a great stay. In just 48 hours, they left on Sunday afternoon to get back to the 'kids', Dean landed some 30 Cherry Springs Carp. Almost all of these were doubles and I think 5 Carp over 20lb's. Dean's biggest Carp was the night caught 28-12 Mirror below. The Carp above is a stunning 25-04 Mirror. Good photos Roxy!
When I first saw the bigger Mirror above I thought it was the same fish which Steve Keene landed last autumn to set the Cherry Lake record at 30-12. However when I compared photos I was pleased to see that it was a different fish. Further evidence of how well the Carp are doing in Cherry Springs.
Dean fished in a variety of spots around the lake. He fed consistently with Hempseed and Sweetcorn alternating small yellow and pink pop-ups. He also landed a Common of 21lb held below by Roxy. Well done guys and see you soon.
Matthew Hitchcock stayed in Kingfisher Lodge with his son Edward. The fishing improved as the week went on and they landed 13 carp including these two beauties of 22-02 and 19-14 below. I think these carp came on the Cherry Lakes Cream boilies fished over pellets and spod mix. Well done both.
