Cherry Pool shows it’s winter colours
Malcolm Williams lands a cracking brace of twenties
Tuesday 4 February 2020
It is not just Cherry Mere which has been fishing well this winter. The same can be said of Cherry Pool. Cherry Pool is our most consistent winter water in terms of catch rate. This is because it has a big stock of both Carp and other fish such as Bream and Roach. The competition plus the fact it is our deepest lake, means that fish are catchable in all but the most extreme of winter weather.
Malcolm Williams had another highly productive visit to Cherry Pool this January. He caught a real hat full of Carp along with some Bream. A normal result for Malcolm who knows this lake very well. Unusually this time, Malcolm landed two 20lb+ Carp. Both of them coming to Cherry Lake Bio-fruit boilies.
The first was the impressive ‘Cotswold Classic’ Mirror Carp which came out at 20-06, pictured in the main photo above. This Mirror is typical of the Cherry Pool Carp which often look a little on the lean side.
Malcolm’s biggest was a 21-04 Common Carp, pictured below. Unlike the Mirror this particular Carp has been feeding well and looks a bit more like me......plump!
These two Carp are well worth catching from Cherry Pool at anytime of the year, and are particularly welcome in the winter. Well done Malcolm. Top angling!
We have plenty of vacancies across Cherry Lakes, and in particular for Cherry Pool, during February. So if you fancy a last minute visit, give us a call on 01285 869887.
