Cherry Pool ‘pilgrimage’ yields 32 carp in a weekend
Monday 11 July 2016
Paul Braddock and Andrew Wells returned to Egret Lodge on Cherry Pool this weekend on their ‘annual pilgrimage’ (or is it weekend away?). Last year they caught some cracking fish including 3lb Crucian Carp, a 20lb Common Carp and a stunning 11lb Koi carp (the last two can be seen on the Cherry Pool website page, but for convenience I have repeated the Koi below).
This year they caught 32 Carp to mid-doubles as well as a good number of Bream. Pellets were the magic bait. As you would expect they thoroughly enjoyed their weekend and have promised to return again next year.
James Tunbridge led the way on Cherry Lake this weekend. James was on his first visit to to Cherry Lake stayed in Osprey Lodge and landed 6 carp and lost three, including three twenties to 22-10. see picture below. James chose to fish both the close and far margins to good effect. Martin who was staying in Heron Lodge with is partner Amy, also fished the near margin to land three Carp . Also a good result on his first trip. Well done to you both.
