Cherry Mere produces some real crackers

This update is focussed solely on Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere. This fantastic exclusive lake keeps on producing with many anglers catching PB's. Indeed two of the anglers covered here have had PB 30's from the Mere in the last couple of weeks.

Pochard Lodge, which is the largest of our Lodges with two bedrooms, is always the first Lodge to be booked. It is very unusual to have any vacancies, and yet due to cancellations we have two vacancies in June, notably

Regulars Jack and Steve Bristow stayed in Pochard Lodge just over a week ago and had a fabulous trip. Rather than use my words, I have simply copied his e mail to me here.....

Hi Mike, 

I've had a great weeks fishing in Pochards this week. Me and my Dad fished and have had 16 fish between us. I personally had 10 fish and 2 x 30lbers!! The biggest was 34.13 my new pb! And the other was 33.8. Both awesome looking fish in great condition. 

I've also had a 26, 22, 18 and the rest were mid to low doubles. I've spent a lot of time watching the water and the weather this week and moving my spots regularly to suit. I made a mix of bait consisting of your cream and red (fishmeal) boilies both whole and crumb, pellets, hemp, corn and cloudy sticky baits manilla liquid. Just a small scoop fishing for a bite has worked well for me! A great week and couldn't be happier with the 2 30's!!

Long term regular's Terry and Pam Ravenscroft returned last week for their holiday in Pochard Lodge. Terry who is a very fit 82, and his lovely wife Pam(I have not dared asked Pam's age!) are an inspiration to both Judith and I. Not only is Terry still doing weights and fishing, they are always doing something. So I was delighted to hear whilst I was away that Terry had finally caught a Cherry Lakes' thirty. As you can see from the photo above, both Terry, and fishery manager Dave who presented the shirt, were well pleased!

Terry's 33-08 mirror was the same Carp as caught by Jack pictured in the lead photo above. Well done again Terry.
