Cherry Mere and Cherry Pool ‘open with a bang’

Our new Lodges opened for the first time this weekend with returning guests enjoying both the new Lodges and fishing the lakes which have been rested for between 6-18 months. As expected the weekend has ‘gone with a bang’.

John and Jane Newby have had a fantastic time on Cherry Pool. By Sunday evening they had caught some 50 Carp to 15-08 including this very nice Ghost Mirror of 13-00 to Jane below. They also caught a lot of Bream to 5-08 and  Roach to 1-12. John was particularly pleased with the condition of the fish. As someone who has fished this lake over several years, he said several times that he can clearly see the benefits of our regular feeding in terms of both the average weight of the fish as well as their general condition.

Steven and Carly Tearle were our guests in Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere. Steven who has tried and blanked several times on Cherry Lake, had a great weekend and smashed fishery manager Dave Bowen’s target of 15 Carp. In total he has landed 20 Carp to 20-06 and lost just one (typically a big one!) Of these 18 Carp were doubles. Coloured pop ups over a lot of Spod Mix and Pellets did the trick. As you can see below Carly also got into the action.

Needless to say John and Jane as well as Carly and Steve are promising to return later this year.
