Cherry Lake turns on for Steve Mumby
Thursday 19 March 2015
Steve Mumby, a returning guest, who has been staying in Osprey Lodge with partner Lisa, has had a great few days this week. Steve, who is undoubtedly a good angler has caught nine cracking Carp, 7 of which are twenty plus to date, and he still has a night and morning to go!
During the week Steve landed two personal best Ghost Carp, the first a lovely 21lb Ghost Common and the second a cracking 28lb Ghost Common which was also his biggest of the week.
As well as these lovely Ghosties, he caught a stunning fully scaled Mirror of 23lb and a 26lb Mirror which one day will be a big 30+. Steve who described himself as ‘over the moon’ reported that all the fish were in excellent condition. Judge for yourself from the photos below.
All of Steve’s Carp came during the day to snowman presentations tipped with Pink pop ups.
Fishery Manager Dave also managed to ‘sneak’ three Carp out from Grebe Lodge including Carp of 23lb and 21lb. Dave though was moaning that as he has been working so hard getting the new Lodges ready for Friday’s first guests, he has to limit himself to nights only!
Clearly as you can see from the above the Carp are increasingly active and we are waiting for the ‘big girls’ to visit the bank over the next few weeks. Although we are already almost full in May and June, we do have a good number of Lodges still available in April. The first really big ‘thirty’ could change this, so please don’t leave it too late to call if you fancy a spring break.
