Cherry Lake starts to warm up in the rain!
Monday 2 April 2018
The fishing is most definitely on the up this weekend despite the monsoon. The lakes are all at their highest levels for several years and we are doing our best to manage them.
All of the anglers on Cherry Lakes caught this weekend which is a nice thing to say as the captures were evenly spread. I am pleased to say that all six Carp caught were over 20lb+, including 4 over 25lb. Not a bad average weight!
James Elson had 26lb and 22lb Carp from the Cottage swim whilst Imran Dawood landed a 25-04 Common from Heron Lodge. Darren Batchelor landed a very nice leather looking Mirror of 26-02 from Grebe Lodge (see photo below).
The biggest Carp of the weekend fell to Stephen Gennery fishing from Osprey Lodge when he landed this classic Mirror of 29-01 below followed by a chunky looking Mirror of 24-09. Both of Stephen’s fish I believe fell to pop-ups. Well done to all.
With the weather looking good for the next 10 days, warming and nice southerly/westerly winds, we are hopeful that the increasing signs of fish activity will result in a lot more Carp on the bank
