Blown away by this fantastic 28-08 Ghost Mirror!
Monday 1 February 2016
I try not to do mid week updates, and ration myself to no more than 2 per week, but as I am so excited to see the Carp below and wanted to share it with you ….. I have chosen to break my own rule!
Our good friends Chris and Lynn Hughes have popped in to see us and given the conditions ( a very big warm south westerly wind) Chris could not resist getting his rods out. Despite, or maybe because of, the howling wind, Chris managed to land one of Cherry Lakes larger Ghost Carp within two hours of starting.
Chris was fishing into the teeth of the wind coming directly onto Heron Lodge. The wind being so strong that keeping the rods on the pod was a real challenge.
As you can see from the photos below Chris was ‘over the moon’ with this gorgeous Ghost Mirror, which looked fantastic in her winter colours. At 28-08, this is a fish that I am sure every angler would love to catch. Chris said as he was holding the Carp ’I just love this place’ and I think you can see why!
Over the last few days Cherry Lake has produced three Carp above 25lb, (a 26lb Mirror, a 27lb Common and now this 28-08 Mirror) at a rate of almost one a day, which I don’t think is too shabby for the winter! it should hopefully not be too long before the 30lb+ Carp starting making their first appearances of the year.
Well done Chris.
