Andrew Wells enjoys his ‘fishing holiday break’ on Cherry Pool.

Good friends Paul Braddock and Andrew Wells thought they would give Cherry Pool a go this year, after spending last year’s fishing break in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs, and they are glad they did so.

They caught over a dozen Carp including a good looking Common of 20-04 and several ‘Ghosties’ including this 11lb Koi below. They also caught a good number of Bream to 7lb. The Carp all came to Cherry Lakes ‘Fish and Plum’ boilies fished over spod mix. They have promised to retun to Egret Lodge on Cherry Pool again next year having had such a good holiday break this year. We look forward to welcoming Paul and Andrew back next year.

All anglers on Cherry Lake reported catches this weekend. The biggest of these was around 23lb. The Carp on Cherry Lake are behaving as I would expect at this time of the year….moody!  Whilst they have had a go at spawning, I am not convinced they are finished. The constant up and down in the weather is not helping them either. Hopefully we will have a settled period of weather  soon and that after sunbathing they will get their heads down and some of the bigger Carp start to get caught again.
