Amazing weekend across Cherry Lakes

An amazing couple of weeks across the Cherry Lakes complex (I must go away more often). We have had some fantastic catch returns and some real crackers caught. Over the last 10 days we have had c50+ Carp caught from Cherry Lake including 11 over 30lb. The Carp have most definitely feeding hard and are now putting on weight. We are waiting on the really big Carp to put in an appearance. I am sure they will when the younger ones pause a little!

My favourite picture is the one in the lead photo above, of a 28-08 heavily scaled Mirror. Nigel landed 11 Carp during his week long stay including a 30-08 Mirror. Interestingly Nigel baited heavily with Cherry Red boilies around his swim marker and fished close to it. This proved to be a winning tactic for him, as well as providing a lot of entertainment through the 'pole dancing'!

Nigel also caught this great shaped young looking Mirror of 27-14 pictured below. Another one for the future.

Regular guest Shane Smith also had an amazing week landing an arm aching total of 21 Carp which included 4 thirties to 33-10. Shane also baited heavily with Cherry Red and at times had the Carp feeding so hard that he could barely keep all his rods in the water......and he reeled in at 21.00 for a decent sleep!

Ross Kirk also had a great weekend, fishing from the Cottage. He was delighted with his 6 Carp (he also did not fish nights) landing I think two thirties to 31lb, the biggest being the Common below. Again Cherry Red did the business for Ross, who has already booked to return.

Regular Andy Perkins also had 8 Carp from Grebe Lodge this weekend, I think the biggest being 28lb. An amazing few days.
