Adam Bowyer keeps catching in the winter.

We have been very quiet her at Cherry Lakes since my last update. The combination of very few anglers and the poor conditions means I have little to update you on……..other than Adam Bowyers recent trip.

One of Adam Bowyer’s claims to fame is that he is one of a very select band of Carp Anglers who has caught a Carp in the snow…..or ‘Snow Carp’ if you prefer. Some of you may recollect that Adam had a successful trip to Pochard Lodge last December when he caught this 18-08 Mirror ‘Snow Carp’ from Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere last December. See below.

Adam has just finished a return visit last weekend to Pochard Lodge. Despite arriving in the last of the recent period of cold weather and high pressure, Adam managed to catch 5 Carp including the 20-04 Mirror below. I always like family shots, so I have included one of Adam and  Tanya with their new baby Rosie…….along with one of our home grown babies, a lovely Mirror of around 7lb.

With the weather changing and set for a period of low pressure and warm winds, It is disappointing that we are so quiet over the next couple of weeks. Even if you don’t fancy the more challenging  Cherry Lake, Cherry Mere (Pochard Lodge) and Cherry Pool (Egret Lodge) can normally be relied on to give anglers a chance of a winter Carp or two.
