A good week across Cherry Lakes.

A good week across the Cherry Lakes complex with temperatures returning to something more like normal.
Father and son team Mike and Simon Newby stayed in Pochard Lodge and fished Cherry Mere. They reported over two hundred pound of Carp which included 16 doubles and a new personal best Mirror of 23-08 to Dad Mike. He also had a lovely 18-04 Mirror which I have included before (stupidly I copied the wrong fish from his camera card!….Sorry Mike).
Wayne Kirston who was staying in Egret Lodge on his first visit to Cherry Lakes. He was delighted with his mixed bag of 40 fish which included Carp to 19lb, Bream to 6lb and some Crucian carp to just over 2lb. He also caught some nice Roach on pellets close in.
Terry and Susan Thacker were on a return visit to Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs and reported 24 Carp to 19lb. He was unlucky not to land a 20lb+ as evidently several ‘big ones’ did get away. Evidently some days the Carp were on it, whilst on others only 2 or 3 were caught. See you next year Terry for a 20lber!
Eight Carp were reported landed on Cherry Lake which is about par. Kirk Bullen was on his first visit to Cherry Lake and so was particularly pleased to land five of them including Carp of 25-08 and 24-00. Plastic pop up corn, as recommended by fishery manager Dave was the key to success. They are very picky with boilies at the moment!
