A family affair at Cherry Lakes!
Sunday 27 August 2017
Cherry Lake has been fishing predictably slower over the last week as the air pressure has increased and we have started to enjoy a bit of late summer sunshine. Steven Keen fishing in Osprey Lodge was the top rod landing three Carp to 19-08.
Gary Hood, who is a good angler and is part of the Tracker Products team stayed in The Cottage last week with his lovely family. Gary did his best to juggle the demands of the family (zoo trips etc) with a bit of a fishing, mainly of a night. A bit of a handicap when the Carp seem to be principally feeding of a morning! Gary did well to land Carp of 25-08 and 21-12. The 25-08 leather looking Mirror was the only night fish caught last week. I particularly like the ‘Family Hood’ shot below. This 21-12 Mirror was caught on the only day when the family did not go out!
As mentioned in a previous update Stuart Crafer had a great time in Kingfisher Lodge on Cherry Springs last week and finished with 41 Carp to 23-02. At times fishing was so good that he had a double take! As you can see from the photo below, both of these Carp were landed.
Phillip Waywell has been staying in Pochard Lodge on Cherry Mere this weekend with his family. So far they have landed 8 Carp between 14-00 to 21-10. Phil’s daughter Caitlin had the big one whilst son Brad has had several including this lovely 14-00 Mirror below. Brad also caught a lot of Perch and Crucians when fishing Maggots on a little whip just off the decking. Well done to team Waywell!
