29lb Mirror to Neil Jenkins is this week’s best from Cherry Lake

Neil Jenkins and his friends fished in Heron and Osprey Lodges this week and ‘had a great time’. A perfect mini break.  Together they shared 15 Carp to 29lb as well as some 7 Carp also lost and were very pleased with their efforts.

Fishing with a range of different boilies and pop ups, Neil Jenkins caught the largest of the week a 29lb Mirror. Both Gavin Tollings, with a cracking Fully Scaled mirror of 25-02 and Tom Westwood with a classic looking Common of 23-04, were very happy with the quality of the fish they also caught. The pictures below speak for themselves.

I returned home last night to find the Carp grouped up in front of the house and I am pleased to report the Carp have been spawning this morning since dawn (hopefully for the last time this  year). I will confess that I have been increasingly anxious about the Carp not spawning fully with the recent ‘up and down’ weather. Stressed Carp is never a good thing….either for them or me!
